I really like this. The Tony Hancock movie does come to mind but I really, really like it. Winnie the Pooh illustration also come to mind. I think your pen and wash work is very good. It's the dark ink that gives the full tonal range. Add some deep darks to your watercolours and they'll improve.
Sorry, spent all of yesterday looking at Rowland Hilder's books and that's the one big lesson I got out of that.
